Chef Nicolas Nikic’s philosophy is rooted in authenticity, precision, and respect for tradition. Trained in Vienna and shaped by years of experience across Europe, he brings a refined yet approachable style to Italian cuisine — focusing on balance, technique, and ingredient quality. His work reflects a deep understanding of both classic Italian cooking and modern hospitality.

After more than two decades in Houston’s culinary scene, Chef Nicolas chose to establish Magdalena’s along Buffalo Speedway near the West University area — a vibrant and diverse community that appreciates elevated dining experiences. The location reflects his vision of creating a neighborhood destination that combines fine dining quality with a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

During his tenure at Da Marco and Dolce Vita, Chef Nicolas was honored with the prestigious GAJA Award of Excellence for Best Sommelier — a recognition of his deep expertise in wine pairing and dedication to exceptional service. This award highlights his ability to curate a dining experience where cuisine and wine come together seamlessly.
